Add the support of the revision 2 of FMC2 IP. - PCSCNTR register has been removed, - CFGR register has been added, - the bit used to enable the IP has moved from BCR1 to CFGR, - the timeout for CEx deassertion has moved from PCSCNTR to BCRx, - the continuous clock enable has moved from BCR1 to CFGR, - the clk divide ratio has moved from BCR1 to CFGR. The MP1 SoCs have only one signal to manage all the controllers (NWAIT). The MP25 SOC has one RNB signal for the NAND controller and one NWAIT signal for the memory controller. Let's use a platform data structure for parameters that will differ between MP1 and MP25. 2024-02-22memory: tegra: Correct DLA client namesJon Hunter1-8/+8
Some of the names for the Tegra234 DLA clients are not unique and do not align with the name of the client ID definitions. Therefore, it is not possible to determine the exact DLA client from messages that print the client name. Fix this by correcting the DLA memory client names for Tegra234 to align with the name of the corresponding memory client ID. Note that although the client names are also used by the interconnect framework, interconnect support for the DLA clients has not been added and so this issue does not impact the interconnect support. There are considerations to drop platform_driver_probe() as a concept that isn't relevant any more today. It comes with an added complexity that makes many users hold it wrong. (E.g. this driver should have better used __init instead of __init_or_module to mark functions only relevant to .probe() and mark the driver struct with __refdata.) 2024-01-23memory: emif: Simplify code handling CONFIG_OFUwe Kleine-König1-10/+0
The first thing that of_get_memory_device_details() does is calling of_parse_phandle(). With CONFIG_OF=n this returns NULL in a static inline function. So the compiler can determine that of_get_memory_device_details() also returns NULL. bloat-o-meter confirms that this patch has no effects on the size of the generated code for CONFIG_OF=n builds. Thierry says this is not used anymore, and doesn't think it makes sense as an iommu driver. The HW it supports is about 10 years old now and newer HW uses different IOMMU drivers. As this is the only driver with a GART approach, and it doesn't really meet the driver expectations from the IOMMU core, let's just remove it so we don't have to think about how to make it fit in. It has a number of identified problems: - The assignment of iommu_groups doesn't match the HW behavior - It claims to have an UNMANAGED domain but it is really an IDENTITY domain with a translation aperture. Add check to ensure that "MRQ_EMC_DVFS_LATENCY" is supported by the BPMP-FW before making the MRQ request. Currently, if the BPMP-FW doesn't support this MRQ, then the "tegra186_emc_probe" fails. Due to this the Memory Interconnect initialization also doesn't happen. Memory Interconnect is not dependent on this MRQ and can initialize even when this MRQ is not supported in any platform. The check ensures that the MRQ is called only when it is supported by the BPMP-FW and Interconnect initializes independent of this MRQ. Also, moved the code to new function for better readability. With the introduction of commit 9365bf006f53 ("PCI: tegra194: Add interconnect support in Tegra234"), the PCI driver on Tegra194 and later requires an interconnect provider. However, a provider is currently only exposed on Tegra234 and this causes PCI on Tegra194 to defer probe indefinitely. Fix this by adding a dummy implementation on Tegra194. This allows nodes to be provided to interconnect consumers, but doesn't do any bandwidth accounting or frequency scaling. To avoid having these clocks disabled by clock subsystem in case there are no Linux consumers for them the clocks were marked as critical in clock drivers (in commit 68b3b6f1773d ("clk: at91: mark ddr clocks as critical")). 2023-05-29ARM: mm: Make virt_to_pfn() a static inlineLinus Walleij1-1/+1
Making virt_to_pfn() a static inline taking a strongly typed (const void *) makes the contract of a passing a pointer of that type to the function explicit and exposes any misuse of the macro virt_to_pfn() acting polymorphic and accepting many types such as (void *), (unitptr_t) or (unsigned long) as arguments without warnings. Doing this is a bit intrusive: virt_to_pfn() requires PHYS_PFN_OFFSET and PAGE_SHIFT to be defined, and this is defined in <asm/page.h>, so this must be included *before* <asm/memory.h>. The use of macros were obscuring the unclear inclusion order here, as the macros would eventually be resolved, but a static inline like this cannot be compiled with unresolved macros. The naive solution to include <asm/page.h> at the top of <asm/memory.h> does not work, because <asm/memory.h> sometimes includes <asm/page.h> at the end of itself, which would create a confusing inclusion loop. So instead, take the approach to always unconditionally include <asm/page.h> at the end of <asm/memory.h> arch/arm uses <asm/memory.h> explicitly in a lot of places, however it turns out that if we just unconditionally include <asm/memory.h> into <asm/page.h> and switch all inclusions of <asm/memory.h> to <asm/page.h> instead, we enforce the right order and <asm/memory.h> will always have access to the definitions. Add Interconnect framework support to dynamically set the DRAM bandwidth from different clients. Both the MC and EMC drivers are added as ICC providers. The path for any request is: MC-Client[1-n] -> MC -> EMC -> EMEM/DRAM MC client's request for bandwidth will go to the MC driver which passes the client request info like BPMP Client ID, Client type and the Bandwidth to the BPMP-FW. The final DRAM freq to achieve the requested bandwidth is set by the BPMP-FW based on the passed parameters. The rpcif structure is used as a common data structure, shared by the RPC-IF core driver and by the HyperBus and SPI child drivers. This poses several problems: - Most structure members describe private core driver state, which should not be accessible by the child drivers, - The structure's lifetime is controlled by the child drivers, complicating use by the core driver. Fix this by moving the private core driver state to its own structure, managed by the RPC-IF core driver, and store it in the core driver's private data field. This requires absorbing the child's platform device, as that was stored in the driver's private data field before. 2022-12-27memory: tegra: Remove clients SID override programmingAshish Mhetre1-36/+0
On newer Tegra releases, early boot SID override programming and SID override programming during resume is handled by bootloader. In the function tegra186_mc_program_sid() which is getting removed, SID override register of all clients is written without checking if secure firmware has allowed write on it or not. If write is disabled by secure firmware then it can lead to errors coming from secure firmware and hang in kernel boot. Also, SID override is programmed on-demand during probe_finalize() call of IOMMU which is done in tegra186_mc_client_sid_override() in this same file. This function does it correctly by checking if write is permitted on SID override register. It also checks if SID override register is already written with correct value and skips re-writing it in that case. On Tegra234 NVDEC firmware is loaded from a secure carveout, where it has been loaded by a bootloader. When booting NVDEC, we need to tell it the address of this firmware, which we can determine by checking the starting address of the carveout. As such, add an MC API to query the bounds of carveouts, and add related information on Tegra234. GCC and GNU binutils support setting the "sub arch" via -march=, -Wa,-march, target function attribute, and .arch assembler directive. Clang was missing support for -Wa,-march=, but this was implemented in clang-13. The behavior of both GCC and Clang is to prefer -Wa,-march= over -march= for assembler and assembler-with-cpp sources, but Clang will warn about the -march= being unused. clang: warning: argument unused during compilation: '-march=armv6k' [-Wunused-command-line-argument] Since most assembler is non-conditionally assembled with one sub arch (modulo arch/arm/delay-loop.S which conditionally is assembled as armv4 based on CONFIG_ARCH_RPC, and arch/arm/mach-at91/pm-suspend.S which is conditionally assembled as armv7-a based on CONFIG_CPU_V7), prefer the .arch assembler directive. This patch introduces support for setting the wait-pin polarity as well as using the same wait-pin for different CS regions. The waitpin polarity can be configured via the WAITPIN<X>POLARITY bits in the GPMC_CONFIG register. This is currently not supported by the driver. This patch adds support for setting the required register bits with the "ti,wait-pin-polarity" dt-property. The wait-pin can also be shared between different CS regions for special usecases. Therefore GPMC must keep track of wait-pin allocations, so it knows that either GPMC itself or another driver has the ownership. According to the datasheet, HS bit should be specified to 1 when using DMA transfer. As DMA transfer is not supported, it should be cleared to 0. 2022-08-16memory: dfl-emif: Update the dfl emif driver support revision 1Debarati Biswas1-5/+57
The next generation (revision 1) of the DFL EMIF feature device requires support for more than 4 memory banks. It does not support the selective clearing of memory banks. A capability register replaces the previous control register, and contains a bitmask to indicate the presence of each memory bank. This bitmask aligns with the previous control register bitmask that served the same purpose. The control and capability registers are treated like a C Union structure in order to support both the new and old revisions of the EMIF device. 2022-06-06memory: mtk-smi: Add support for MT6795 Helio X10AngeloGioacchino Del Regno1-0/+17
The MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) SoC has 5 LARBs and one common SMI instance without any sub-common and without GALS. While the smi-common configuration is specific to this SoC, on the LARB side, this is similar to MT8173, in the sense that it doesn't need the port in LARB, and the register layout is also compatible with that one, which makes us able to fully reuse the smi-larb platform data struct that was introduced for MT8173. 2022-05-09memory: tegra: Add memory controller channels supportAshish Mhetre3-0/+32
From Tegra186 onwards, the memory controller supports multiple channels. Add support for mapping the address spaces of these channels and specify the number of channels supported by Tegra186, Tegra194 and Tegra234. In case of old bindings, channels won't be present. If channels are not present then print a warning and continue so that backward compatibility will be preserved in driver. During error interrupts from memory controller, appropriate registers from these channels need to be accessed for logging error info. Allow OMAP_GPMC to be built as a module. When building this driver as a module, the symbol 'of_default_bus_match_table' will not be found as it is not being exported. The of_match_node() call is redundant anyways as of_platform_default_populate() already takes care of matching with 'of_default_bus_match_table'. So get rid of that call. So far for armv7 TI platforms, GPMC was being selected by arch/arm/mach-* architecture Kconfig files. For K3 platforms, GPMC is no longer required for basic boot and cannot be always enabled by default by mach- Kconfig. HyperFlash devices fail to probe: rpc-if-hyperflash rpc-if-hyperflash: probing of hyperbus device failed In HyperFlash or Octal-SPI Flash mode, the Transfer Data Enable bits (SPIDE) in the Manual Mode Enable Setting Register (SMENR) are derived from half of the transfer size, cfr. the rpcif_bits_set() helper function. However, rpcif_reg_{read,write}() does not take the bus size into account, and does not double all Manual Mode Data Register access sizes when communicating with a HyperFlash or Octal-SPI Flash device. Fix this, and avoid the back-and-forth conversion between transfer size and Transfer Data Enable bits, by explicitly storing the transfer size in struct rpcif, and using that value to determine access size in rpcif_reg_{read,write}(). Enforce that the "high" Manual Mode Read/Write Data Registers (SM[RW]DR1) are only used for 8-byte data accesses. While at it, forbid writing to the Manual Mode Read Data Registers, as they are read-only. Sleep control means that when the larb goes to sleep, we should wait a bit until all the current commands are finished. Thus, when the larb runtime suspends, we need to enable this function to wait until all the existed commands are finished. When the larb resumes, just disable this function. platform_get_resource(pdev, IORESOURCE_IRQ, ..) relies on static allocation of IRQ resources in DT core code, this causes an issue when using hierarchical interrupt domains using "interrupts" property in the node as this bypasses the hierarchical setup and messes up the irq chaining. To avoid this issue, initialize "larbostd" to NULL when the SoC doesn't have ostd setting. The error handling code of fsl_ifc_ctrl_probe is problematic. When fsl_ifc_ctrl_init fails or request_irq of fsl_ifc_ctrl_dev->irq fails, it forgets to free the irq and nand_irq. Meanwhile, if request_irq of fsl_ifc_ctrl_dev->nand_irq fails, it will still free nand_irq even if the request_irq is not successful. Fix this by refactoring the error handling code. HyperFlash devices in Renesas SoCs use 2-bytes addressing, according to HW manual paragraph 62.3.3 (which officially describes Serial Flash access, but seems to be applicable to HyperFlash too). And 1-byte bus read operations to 2-bytes unaligned addresses in external address space read mode work incorrectly (returns the other byte from the same word). Function memcpy_fromio(), used by the driver to read data from the bus, in ARM64 architecture (to which Renesas cores belong) uses 8-bytes bus accesses for appropriate aligned addresses, and 1-bytes accesses for other addresses. This results in incorrect data read from HyperFlash in unaligned cases. This patch fixes 2 problems: [1] The output warning logs and data loss when performing mount/umount then remount the device with jffs2 format. [2] The access width of SMWDR[0:1]/SMRDR[0:1] register is wrong. This is the sample warning logs when performing mount/umount then remount the device with jffs2 format: jffs2: jffs2_scan_inode_node(): CRC failed on node at 0x031c51d4: Read 0x00034e00, calculated 0xadb272a7 The reason for issue [1] is that the writing data seems to get messed up. Data is only completed when the number of bytes is divisible by 4. If you only have 3 bytes of data left to write, 1 garbage byte is inserted after the end of the write stream. If you only have 2 bytes of data left to write, 2 bytes of '00' are added into the write stream. If you only have 1 byte of data left to write, 2 bytes of '00' are added into the write stream. 1 garbage byte is inserted after the end of the write stream. To solve problem [1], data must be written continuously in serial and the write stream ends when data is out. Following HW manual 62.2.15, access to SMWDR0 register should be in the same size as the transfer size specified in the SPIDE[3:0] bits in the manual mode enable setting register (SMENR). Be sure to access from address 0. So, in 16-bit transfer (SPIDE[3:0]=b'1100), SMWDR0 should be accessed by 16-bit width. Similar to SMWDR1, SMDDR0/1 registers. In current code, SMWDR0 register is accessed by regmap_write() that only set up to do 32-bit width. To solve problem [2], data must be written 16-bit or 8-bit when transferring 1-byte or 2-byte.
