Update tpm2_load_context() to return -EINVAL on integrity failures and
use this as a signal when loading the NULL context that something
might be wrong. If the signal fails, check the name of the NULL
primary against the one stored in the chip data and if there is a
mismatch disable the TPM because it is likely to have suffered a reset
attack.

This is the last component of encrypted tpm2 session handling that
allows us to verify from userspace that the key derived from the NULL
seed genuinely belongs to the TPM and has not been spoofed.
The procedure for doing this involves creating an attestation identity
key (which requires verification of the TPM EK certificate) and then
using that AIK to sign a certification of the Elliptic Curve key over
the NULL seed. Userspace must create this EC Key using the parameters
prescribed in TCG TPM v2.0 Provisioning Guidance for the SRK ECC; if
this is done correctly the names will match and the TPM can then run a
TPM2_Certify operation on this derived primary key using the newly
created AIK.

tpm2_pcr_extend() is used by trusted keys to extend a PCR to prevent a
key from being re-loaded until the next reboot. To use this
functionality securely, that extend must be protected by a session
hmac. This patch adds HMAC protection so tampering with the
tpm2_pcr_extend() command in flight is detected.

The final pieces of the HMAC API are for manipulating the session area
of the command. To add an authentication HMAC session
tpm_buf_append_hmac_session() is called where tpm2_append_auth() would
go. If a non empty password is passed in, this is correctly added to
the HMAC to prove knowledge of it without revealing it. Note that if
the session is only used to encrypt or decrypt parameters (no
authentication) then tpm_buf_append_hmac_session_opt() must be used
instead. This functions identically to tpm_buf_append_hmac_session()
when TPM_BUS_SECURITY is enabled, but differently when it isn't,
because effectively nothing is appended to the session area.
Next the parameters should be filled in for the command and finally
tpm_buf_fill_hmac_session() is called immediately prior to transmitting
the command which computes the correct HMAC and places it in the
command at the session location in the tpm buffer
Finally, after tpm_transmit_cmd() is called,
tpm_buf_check_hmac_response() is called to check that the returned
HMAC matched and collect the new state for the next use of the
session, if any.
The features of the session are controlled by the session attributes
set in tpm_buf_append_hmac_session(). If TPM2_SA_CONTINUE_SESSION is
not specified, the session will be flushed and the tpm2_auth structure
freed in tpm_buf_check_hmac_response(); otherwise the session may be
used again. Parameter encryption is specified by or'ing the flag
TPM2_SA_DECRYPT and response encryption by or'ing the flag
TPM2_SA_ENCRYPT. the various encryptions will be taken care of by
tpm_buf_fill_hmac_session() and tpm_buf_check_hmac_response()
respectively.

Add tpm2_append_name() for appending to the handle area of the TPM
command. When TPM_BUS_SECURITY is enabled and HMAC sessions are in
use this adds the standard u32 handle to the buffer but additionally
records the name of the object which must be used as part of the HMAC
computation. The name of certain object types (volatile and permanent
handles and NV indexes) is a hash of the public area of the object.
Since this hash is not known ahead of time, it must be requested from
the TPM using TPM2_ReadPublic() (which cannot be HMAC protected, but
if an interposer lies about it, the HMAC check will fail and the
problem will be detected).

Add session based HMAC authentication plus parameter decryption and
response encryption using AES. The basic design is to segregate all
the nasty crypto, hash and hmac code into tpm2-sessions.c and export a
usable API. The API first of all starts off by gaining a session with
tpm2_start_auth_session() which initiates a session with the TPM and
allocates an opaque tpm2_auth structure to handle the session
parameters. The design is that session use will be single threaded
from start to finish under the ops lock, so the tpm2_auth structure is
stored in struct tpm2_chip to simpify the externally visible API.
The session can be ended with tpm2_end_auth_session() which is
designed only to be used in error legs. Ordinarily the further
session API (future patches) will end or continue the session
appropriately without having to call this.

The session handling code uses a "salted" session, meaning a session
whose salt is encrypted to the public part of another TPM key so an
observer cannot obtain it (and thus deduce the session keys). This
patch creates and context saves in the tpm_chip area the primary key
of the NULL hierarchy for this purpose.

Replace all instances of &buf.data[TPM_HEADER_SIZE] with a new
function tpm_buf_parameters() because encryption sessions change
where the return parameters are located in the buffer since if a
return session is present they're 4 bytes beyond the header with those
4 bytes giving the parameter length. If there is no return session,

separate out the tpm_buf_... handling functions from static inlines in

to adding new functions for other TPM type handling because the amount

The recent change to handle HAS_IOPORT removed the TPM_INF_IO_PORT
define for the HAS_IOPORT=n case despite the define being used in
sections of code not covered by the same ifdef check. This was missed
because at the moment TCG_INFINEON indirectly depends on HAS_IOPORT via
PNP which depends on ACPI || ISA. As TCG_INFINEON does in principle
support MMIO only use add it for COMPILE_TEST to cover the HAS_IOPORT=n

The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it was merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

The CRC functionality is initialized before tpm_tis_core, so it can be used
on all code paths within the module. Therefore, move the CRC check to the
generic send routine, that also contains all other checks for successful
command transmission, so that all those checks are in one place.
Also, this ensures that tpm_tis_ready is called when a CRC failure is
detected, to clear the invalid data from the TPM, which did not happen

TPM devices may insert wait state on last clock cycle of ADDR phase.
For SPI controllers that support full-duplex transfers, this can be
detected using software by reading the MISO line. For SPI controllers
that only support half-duplex transfers, such as the Tegra QSPI, it is
not possible to detect the wait signal from software. The QSPI
controller in Tegra234 and Tegra241 implement hardware detection of the
wait signal which can be enabled in the controller for TPM devices.
The current TPM TIS driver only supports software detection of the wait
signal. To support SPI controllers that use hardware to detect the wait
signal, add the function tpm_tis_spi_transfer_half() and move the
existing code for software based detection into a function called
tpm_tis_spi_transfer_full(). SPI controllers that only support
half-duplex transfers will always call tpm_tis_spi_transfer_half()
because they cannot support software based detection. The bit
SPI_TPM_HW_FLOW is set to indicate to the SPI controller that hardware
detection is required and it is the responsibility of the SPI controller
driver to determine if this is supported or not.
For hardware flow control, CMD-ADDR-DATA messages are combined into a
single message where as for software flow control exiting method of
CMD-ADDR in a message and DATA in another is followed.

Since for MMIO driver using FIFO registers, also known as tpm_tis, the
default (and tbh recommended) behaviour is now the polling mode, the
"tristate" workaround is no longer for benefit.
If someone wants to explicitly enable IRQs for a TPM chip that should be
without question allowed. It could very well be a piece hardware in the
existing deny list because of e.g. firmware update or something similar.
While at it, document the module parameter, as this was not done in 2006
when it first appeared in the mainline.

recv_data either returns the number of received bytes, or a negative value
representing an error code. Adding the return value directly to the total
number of received bytes therefore looks a little weird, since it might add
a negative error code to a sum of bytes.
The following check for size < expected usually makes the function return
ETIME in that case, so it does not cause too many problems in practice. But
to make the code look cleaner and because the caller might still be
interested in the original error code, explicitly check for the presence of
an error code and pass that through.

After activation of interrupts for TPM TIS drivers 0-day reports an
interrupt storm on an Inspur NF5180M6 server.
Fix this by detecting the storm and falling back to polling:
Count the number of unhandled interrupts within a 10 ms time interval. In
case that more than 1000 were unhandled deactivate interrupts entirely,
deregister the handler and use polling instead.
Also print a note to point to the tpm_tis_dmi_table.
Since the interrupt deregistration function devm_free_irq() waits for all
interrupt handlers to finish, only trigger a worker in the interrupt
handler and do the unregistration in the worker to avoid a deadlock.
Note: the storm detection logic equals the implementation in
note_interrupt() which uses timestamps and counters stored in struct
irq_desc. Since this structure is private to the generic interrupt core
the TPM TIS core uses its own timestamps and counters. Furthermore the TPM
interrupt handler always returns IRQ_HANDLED to prevent the generic
interrupt core from processing the interrupt storm.

The failure paths in tpm_tis_spi_transfer() do not deactivate
chip select. Send an empty message (cs_select == 0) to overcome
this.
The patch is tested by two ways.
One way needs to touch hardware:
1. force pull MISO pin down to GND, it emulates a forever
'WAIT' timing.
2. probe cs pin by an oscilloscope.
3. load tpm_tis_spi.ko.
After loading, dmesg prints:
"probe of spi0.0 failed with error -110"
and oscilloscope shows cs pin goes high(deactivated) after
the failure. Before the patch, cs pin keeps low.
Second way is by writing a fake spi controller.
1. implement .transfer_one method, fill all rx buf with 0.
2. implement .set_cs method, print the state of cs pin.
we can see cs goes high after the failure.

tpm: Re-enable TPM chip boostrapping non-tpm_tis TPM drivers
|
|
TPM chip bootstrapping was removed from tpm_chip_register(), and it
was relocated to tpm_tis_core. This breaks all drivers which are not
based on tpm_tis because the chip will not get properly initialized.
Take the corrective steps:
1. Rename tpm_chip_startup() as tpm_chip_bootstrap() and make it one-shot.
2. Call tpm_chip_bootstrap() in tpm_chip_register(), which reverts the
things as tehy used to be.

Pull driver core updates from Greg KH:
"Here is the large set of driver core changes for 6.4-rc1.
Once again, a busy development cycle, with lots of changes happening
in the driver core in the quest to be able to move "struct bus" and
"struct class" into read-only memory, a task now complete with these
changes.
This will make the future rust interactions with the driver core more
"provably correct" as well as providing more obvious lifetime rules
for all busses and classes in the kernel.
The changes required for this did touch many individual classes and
busses as many callbacks were changed to take const * parameters
instead. All of these changes have been submitted to the various
subsystem maintainers, giving them plenty of time to review, and most
of them actually did so.
Other than those changes, included in here are a small set of other
things:
- kobject logging improvements
- cacheinfo improvements and updates
- obligatory fw_devlink updates and fixes

ioread8() operations to TPM MMIO addresses can stall the CPU when
immediately following a sequence of iowrite*()'s to the same region.
For example, cyclitest measures ~400us latency spikes when a non-RT
usermode application communicates with an SPI-based TPM chip (Intel Atom
E3940 system, PREEMPT_RT kernel). The spikes are caused by a
stalling ioread8() operation following a sequence of 30+ iowrite8()s to
the same address. I believe this happens because the write sequence is
buffered (in CPU or somewhere along the bus), and gets flushed on the
first LOAD instruction (ioread*()) that follows.
The enclosed change appears to fix this issue: read the TPM chip's
access register (status code) after every iowrite*() operation to
amortize the cost of flushing data to chip across multiple instructions.

Implement a usage counter for the (default) locality used by the TPM TIS
driver:
Request the locality from the TPM if it has not been claimed yet, otherwise
only increment the counter. Also release the locality if the counter is 0
otherwise only decrement the counter. Since in case of SPI the register
accesses are locked by means of the SPI bus mutex use a sleepable lock

After driver initialization tpm_tis_data->locality may only be modified in
case of a LOCALITY CHANGE interrupt. In this case the interrupt handler
iterates over all localities only to assign the active one to
tpm_tis_data->locality.
However this information is never used any more, so the assignment is not
needed.
Furthermore without the assignment tpm_tis_data->locality cannot change any
more at driver runtime, and thus no protection against concurrent
modification is required when the variable is read at other places.
So remove this iteration entirely.

Since nothing guarantees cache coherency between CPUs for unsynchronized

Do not wait until long after the struct class has been created to set
the shutdown_pre pointer for the tpm_class, assign it right away.
This is the only in-kernel offender that tries to modify the
device->class pointer contents after it has been assigned to a device,
so fix that up by doing the function pointer assignment before it is
matched with the device. Because of this, the patch should go through
the driver core tree to allow later changes to struct device to be
possible.

AMD has issued an advisory indicating that having fTPM enabled in
BIOS can cause "stuttering" in the OS. This issue has been fixed
in newer versions of the fTPM firmware, but it's up to system
designers to decide whether to distribute it.
This issue has existed for a while, but is more prevalent starting
with kernel 6.1 because commit b006c439d58db ("hwrng: core - start
hwrng kthread also for untrusted sources") started to use the fTPM
for hwrng by default. However, all uses of /dev/hwrng result in
unacceptable stuttering.
So, simply disable registration of the defective hwrng when detecting
these faulty fTPM versions. As this is caused by faulty firmware, it
is plausible that such a problem could also be reproduced by other TPM
interactions, but this hasn't been shown by any user's testing or reports.
It is hypothesized to be triggered more frequently by the use of the RNG
because userspace software will fetch random numbers regularly.
Intentionally continue to register other TPM functionality so that users
that rely upon PCR measurements or any storage of data will still have
access to it. If it's found later that another TPM functionality is
exacerbating this problem a module parameter it can be turned off entirely
and a module parameter can be introduced to allow users who rely upon
fTPM functionality to turn it on even though this problem is present.

tpm_read_log_acpi() should return -ENODEV when no eventlog from the ACPI
table is found. If the firmware vendor includes an invalid log address
we are unable to map from the ACPI memory and tpm_read_log() returns -EIO
which would abort discovery of the eventlog.

Some TPM 2.0 devices have support for additional commands which are not
part of the TPM 2.0 specifications.
These commands are identified with bit 29 of the 32 bits command codes.
Contrarily to other fields of the TPMA_CC spec structure used to list
available commands, the Vendor flag also has to be present in the
command code itself (TPM_CC) when called.
Add this flag to tpm_find_cc() mask to prevent blocking vendor command
codes that can actually be supported by the underlying TPM device.

Pluton is an integrated security processor present in some recent Ryzen
parts. If it's enabled, it presents two devices - an MSFT0101 ACPI device
that's broadly an implementation of a Command Response Buffer TPM2, and an
MSFT0200 ACPI device whose functionality I haven't examined in detail yet.
This patch only attempts to add support for the TPM device.
There's a few things that need to be handled here. The first is that the
TPM2 ACPI table uses a previously undefined start method identifier. The
table format appears to include 16 bytes of startup data, which corresponds
to one 64-bit address for a start message and one 64-bit address for a
completion response. The second is that the ACPI tables on the Thinkpad Z13
I'm testing this on don't define any memory windows in _CRS (or, more
accurately, there are two empty memory windows). This check doesn't seem
strictly necessary, so I've skipped that.
Finally, it seems like chip needs to be explicitly asked to transition into
ready status on every command. Failing to do this means that if two
commands are sent in succession without an idle/ready transition in
between, everything will appear to work fine but the response is simply the
original command. I'm working without any docs here, so I'm not sure if
this is actually the required behaviour or if I'm missing something
somewhere else, but doing this results in the chip working reliably.

TPM 1 is sometimes broken across system suspends, due to races or
locking issues or something else that haven't been diagnosed or fixed
yet, most likely having to do with concurrent reads from the TPM's
hardware random number generator driver. These issues prevent the system
from actually suspending, with errors like:

...
tpm tpm0: A TPM error (28) occurred attempting get random
...
tpm tpm0: Error (28) sending savestate before suspend

tpm_tis 00:08: PM: failed to suspend: error 28
PM: Some devices failed to suspend, or early wake event detected
This issue was partially fixed by 23393c646142 ("char: tpm: Protect
tpm_pm_suspend with locks"), in a last minute 6.1 commit that Linus took
directly because the TPM maintainers weren't available. However, it
seems like this just addresses the most common cases of the bug, rather
than addressing it entirely. So there are more things to fix still,
apparently.
In lieu of actually fixing the underlying bug, just allow system suspend
to continue, so that laptops still go to sleep fine. Later, this can be
reverted when the real bug is fixed.

Pull timer updates from Thomas Gleixner:
"Updates for timers, timekeeping and drivers:
Core:
- The timer_shutdown[_sync]() infrastructure:
Tearing down timers can be tedious when there are circular
dependencies to other things which need to be torn down. A prime
example is timer and workqueue where the timer schedules work and
the work arms the timer.
What needs to prevented is that pending work which is drained via
destroy_workqueue() does not rearm the previously shutdown timer.
Nothing in that shutdown sequence relies on the timer being
functional.
The conclusion was that the semantics of timer_shutdown_sync()
should be:
- timer is not enqueued
- timer callback is not running
- timer cannot be rearmed
Preventing the rearming of shutdown timers is done by discarding
rearm attempts silently.
A warning for the case that a rearm attempt of a shutdown timer is
detected would not be really helpful because it's entirely unclear
how it should be acted upon. The only way to address such a case is
to add 'if (in_shutdown)' conditionals all over the place. This is
error prone and in most cases of teardown not required all.
- The real fix for the bluetooth HCI teardown based on
timer_shutdown_sync().
A larger scale conversion to timer_shutdown_sync() is work in
progress.
- Consolidation of VDSO time namespace helper functions
- Small fixes for timer and timerqueue

- Prevent integer overflow on the XGene-1 TVAL register which causes

Switch the driver from legacy gpio API (that uses flat GPIO numbering)
to the newer gpiod API (which used descriptors and respects line
polarities specified in ACPI or device tree).
Because gpio handling code for SPI and I2C variants duplicates each
other it is moved into the core code for the driver.
Also, it seems that the driver never assigned tpm_dev->io_lpcpd in the
past, so gpio-based power management was most likely not working ever.

For bus-based driver, device removal is implemented as:
1 device_remove()->
2 bus->remove()->
3 driver->remove()
Driver core needs no inform from callee(bus driver) about the
result of remove callback. In that case, commit fc7a6209d571
("bus: Make remove callback return void") forces bus_type::remove
be void-returned.
Now we have the situation that both 1 & 2 of calling chain are
void-returned, so it does not make much sense for 3(driver->remove)
to return non-void to its caller.
So the basic idea behind this change is making remove() callback of
any bus-based driver to be void-returned.
This change, for itself, is for device drivers based on acpi-bus.

The value returned by an i2c driver's remove function is mostly ignored.
(Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the
error is ignored.)
So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This
way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to
the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly.
There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to
return 0 before.

Implement the TCG I2C Interface driver, as specified in the TCG PC
Client Platform TPM Profile (PTP) specification for TPM 2.0 v1.04
revision 14, section 8, I2C Interface Definition.
This driver supports Guard Times. That is, if required by the TPM, the
driver has to wait by a vendor-specific time after each I2C read/write.
The specific time is read from the TPM_I2C_INTERFACE_CAPABILITY register.
Unfortunately, the TCG specified almost but not quite compatible
register addresses. Therefore, the TIS register addresses need to be
mapped to I2C ones. The locality is stripped because for now, only
locality 0 is supported.
Add a sanity check to I2C reads of e.g. TPM_ACCESS and TPM_STS. This is
to detect communication errors and issues due to non-standard behaviour
(E.g. the clock stretching quirk in the BCM2835, see 4dbfb5f4401f). In
case the sanity check fails, attempt a retry.

Some TPMs, e.g. those implementing the I2C variant of TIS, can verify
data transfers to/from the FIFO with a CRC. The CRC is calculated over
the entirety of the FIFO register. Since the phy_ops layer is not aware

must be triggered from the core layer. To this end, add an optional

In case a TPM in failure mode is detected, the TPM should be accessible
through a transparent communication channel for analysing purposes (e.g.
TPM_GetTestResult) or a field upgrade. Since a TPM in failure mode has
similar reduced functionality as in field upgrade mode, the flag
TPM_CHIP_FLAG_FIRMWARE_UPGRADE is also valid.
As described in TCG TPM Main Part1 Design Principles, Revision 116,
chapter 9.2.1. the TPM also allows an update function in case a TPM is
in failure mode.
If the TPM in failure mode is detected, the function tpm1_auto_startup()
sets TPM_CHIP_FLAG_FIRMWARE_UPGRADE flag, which is used later during
driver initialization/deinitialization to disable functionality which
makes no sense or will fail in the current TPM state. The following
functionality is affected:
* Do not register TPM as a hwrng
* Do not get pcr allocation
* Do not register sysfs entries which provide information impossible to

Returning an error value in an i2c remove callback results in an error
message being emitted by the i2c core, but otherwise it doesn't make a
difference. The device goes away anyhow and the devm cleanups are
called.
As tpm_cr50_i2c_remove() emits an error message already and the
additional error message by the i2c core doesn't add any useful
information, change the return value to zero to suppress this error
message.
Note that if i2c_clientdata is NULL, there is something really fishy.
Assuming no memory corruption happened (then all bets are lost anyhow),
tpm_cr50_i2c_remove() is only called after tpm_cr50_i2c_probe() returned
successfully. So there was a tpm chip registered before and after
tpm_cr50_i2c_remove() its privdata is freed but the associated character
device isn't removed. If after that happened userspace accesses the
character device it's likely that the freed memory is accessed. For that
reason the warning message is made a bit more frightening.

multiple bytes at once, every other driver will just fall back to
read_bytes/write_bytes. Therefore, remove the read16/read32/write32

As part of the series conversion to remove nested TPM operations:
https://lore.kernel.org/all/20190205224723.19671-1-jarkko.sakkinen@linux.intel.com/
exposure of the chip->tpm_mutex was removed from much of the upper
level code. In this conversion, tpm2_del_space() was missed. This
didn't matter much because it's usually called closely after a
converted operation, so there's only a very tiny race window where the
chip can be removed before the space flushing is done which causes a
NULL deref on the mutex. However, there are reports of this window
being hit in practice, so fix this by converting tpm2_del_space() to
use tpm_try_get_ops(), which performs all the teardown checks before
acquring the mutex.

The reason for this warning is the attempt to get the chip->dev reference
in tpm_common_write() although the reference counter is already zero.
Since commit 8979b02aaf1d ("tpm: Fix reference count to main device") the
extra reference used to prevent a premature zero counter is never taken,
because the required TPM_CHIP_FLAG_TPM2 flag is never set.
Fix this by moving the TPM 2 character device handling from
tpm_chip_alloc() to tpm_add_char_device() which is called at a later point
in time when the flag has been set in case of TPM2.
Commit fdc915f7f719 ("tpm: expose spaces via a device link /dev/tpmrm<n>")
already introduced function tpm_devs_release() to release the extra
reference but did not implement the required put on chip->devs that results
in the call of this function.
Fix this by putting chip->devs in tpm_chip_unregister().
Finally move the new implementation for the TPM 2 handling into a new
function to avoid multiple checks for the TPM_CHIP_FLAG_TPM2 flag in the
good case and error cases.

When an invalid (non existing) handle is used in a TPM command,
that uses the resource manager interface (/dev/tpmrm0) the resource
manager tries to load it from its internal cache, but fails and
the tpm_dev_transmit returns an -EINVAL error to the caller.
The existing async handler doesn't handle these error cases
currently and the condition in the poll handler never returns
mask with EPOLLIN set.
The result is that the poll call blocks and the application gets stuck
until the user_read_timer wakes it up after 120 sec.
Change the tpm_dev_async_work function to handle error conditions
returned from tpm_dev_transmit they are also reflected in the poll mask
and a correct error code could passed back to the caller.

This warning appears to be triggered due to the "count < len"
check in vtpm_proxy_fops_read() splitting the CFG[1], and the compiler
attempting to reason about the possible value range in len compared
to the buffer size.
In order to silence this warning, and to keep this code robust if the
use of proxy_dev->req_len ever changes in the future, explicitly check
the size of len before reaching the memset().

The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored.
(Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the
error is ignored.)
So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This
way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to
the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly.
There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to
return 0 before.

Some SPI controller drivers unregister the controller in the shutdown
handler (e.g. BCM2835). If such a controller is used with a TPM 2 slave
chip->ops may be accessed when it is already NULL:
At system shutdown the pre-shutdown handler tpm_class_shutdown() shuts down
TPM 2 and sets chip->ops to NULL. Then at SPI controller unregistration
tpm_tis_spi_remove() is called and eventually calls tpm_del_char_device()
which tries to shut down TPM 2 again. Thereby it accesses chip->ops again:
(tpm_del_char_device calls tpm_chip_start which calls tpm_clk_enable which
calls chip->ops->clk_enable).
Avoid the NULL pointer access by testing if chip->ops is valid and skipping
the TPM 2 shutdown procedure in case it is NULL.

If something went wrong during the TPM firmware upgrade, like power
failure or the firmware image file get corrupted, the TPM might end
up in Upgrade or Failure mode upon the next start. The state is
persistent between the TPM power cycle/restart.
According to TPM specification:
* If the TPM is in Upgrade mode, it will answer with TPM2_RC_UPGRADE
to all commands except TPM2_FieldUpgradeData(). It may also accept
other commands if it is able to complete them using the previously
installed firmware.
* If the TPM is in Failure mode, it will allow performing TPM
initialization but will not provide any crypto operations.
Will happily respond to Field Upgrade calls.
Change the behavior of the tpm2_auto_startup(), so it detects the active
running mode of the TPM by adding the following checks. If
tpm2_do_selftest() call returns TPM2_RC_UPGRADE, the TPM is in Upgrade
mode.
If the TPM is in Failure mode, it will successfully respond to both
tpm2_do_selftest() and tpm2_startup() calls. Although, will fail to
answer to tpm2_get_cc_attrs_tbl(). Use this fact to conclude that TPM is
in Failure mode.
If detected that the TPM is in the Upgrade or Failure mode, the function
sets TPM_CHIP_FLAG_FIRMWARE_UPGRADE_MODE flag.
The TPM_CHIP_FLAG_FIRMWARE_UPGRADE_MODE flag is used later during driver
initialization/deinitialization to disable functionality which makes no
sense or will fail in the current TPM state. Following functionality is
affected:
* Do not register TPM as a hwrng
* Do not register sysfs entries which provide information impossible to
obtain in limited mode
* Do not register resource managed character device

To allow this device to fill the kernel's entropy pool at boot,
setup a default quality for the hwrng found in Cr50.
After some testing with rngtest and dieharder it was, in short,
discovered that the RNG produces fair quality randomness, giving
around 99.93% successes in rngtest FIPS140-2.
Notably, though, when testing with dieharder it was noticed that
we get 3 WEAK results over 114, which isn't optimal, and also
the p-values distribution wasn't uniform in all the cases, so a
conservative quality value was chosen by applying an arbitrary
penalty to the calculated values.
For reference, this is how the values were calculated:
The dieharder results were averaged, then normalized (0-1000)
and re-averaged with the rngtest result (where the result was
given a score of 99.93% of 1000, so 999.3), then aggregated
together and averaged again.
An arbitrary penalty of -100 was applied due to the retrieved
value, which brings us finally to 700.

It is observed from the kernel log after running `tpm_sealdata -z`.
The error thrown from the command is as follows
```
$ tpm_sealdata -z
Tspi_Key_LoadKey failed: 0x00001087 - layer=tddl,
code=0087 (135), I/O error
```
The issue was reproduced with the following Atmel TPM chip:
```
$ tpm_version
T0 TPM 1.2 Version Info:
Chip Version: 1.2.66.1
Spec Level: 2
Errata Revision: 3
TPM Vendor ID: ATML
TPM Version: 01010000
Manufacturer Info: 41544d4c
```
The root cause of the issue is due to the TPM calls to msleep()
were replaced with usleep_range() [1], which reduces
the actual timeout. Via experiments, it is observed that
the original msleep(5) actually sleeps for 15ms.
Because of a known timeout issue in Atmel TPM 1.2 chip,
the shorter timeout than 15ms can cause the error described above.
A few further changes in kernel 4.16 [2] and 4.18 [3, 4] further
reduced the timeout to less than 1ms. With experiments,
the problematic timeout in the latest kernel is the one
for `wait_for_tpm_stat`.
To fix it, the patch reverts the timeout of `wait_for_tpm_stat`
to 15ms for all Atmel TPM 1.2 chips, but leave it untouched
for Ateml TPM 2.0 chip, and chips from other vendors.
As explained above, the chosen 15ms timeout is
the actual timeout before this issue introduced,
thus the old value is used here.
Particularly, TPM_ATML_TIMEOUT_WAIT_STAT_MIN is set to 14700us,
TPM_ATML_TIMEOUT_WAIT_STAT_MIN is set to 15000us according to
the existing TPM_TIMEOUT_RANGE_US (300us).
The fixed has been tested in the system with the affected Atmel chip
with no issues observed after boot up.

When rngd is run as root then lots of these types of message will appear
in the kernel log if the TPM has been configured to provide random bytes:
[ 7406.275163] tpm tpm0: tpm_transmit: tpm_recv: error -4
The issue is caused by the following call that is interrupted while
waiting for the TPM's response.
sig = wait_event_interruptible(ibmvtpm->wq, !ibmvtpm->tpm_processing_cmd);
Rather than waiting for the response in the low level driver, have it use
the polling loop in tpm_try_transmit() that uses a command's duration to
poll until a result has been returned by the TPM, thus ending when the
timeout has occurred but not responding to signals and ctrl-c anymore. To
stay in this polling loop extend tpm_ibmvtpm_status() to return
'true' for as long as the vTPM is indicated as being busy in
tpm_processing_cmd. Since the loop requires the TPM's timeouts, get them
now using tpm_get_timeouts() after setting the TPM2 version flag on the
chip.
To recreat the resolved issue start rngd like this:
sudo rngd -r /dev/hwrng -t
sudo rngd -r /dev/tpm0 -t

Way back when this driver was written the I2C framework
used to insist an ID table be defined even if the driver
did not use it in favor of ACPI/OF matching, so it was
added just to placate the hard I2C framework requirement.
This is no longer the case so we can drop the table and

dma-buf backed shared memory cannot be reliably freed and unregistered
during a kexec operation even when tee_shm_free() is called on the shm
from a .shutdown hook. The problem occurs because dma_buf_put() calls
fput() which then uses task_work_add(), with the TWA_RESUME parameter,
to queue tee_shm_release() to be called before the current task returns
to user mode. However, the current task never returns to user mode
before the kexec completes so the memory is never freed nor
unregistered.
Use tee_shm_alloc_kernel_buf() to avoid dma-buf backed shared memory
allocation so that tee_shm_free() can directly call tee_shm_release().
This will ensure that the shm can be freed and unregistered during a
kexec operation.

The driver core ignores the return value of struct bus_type::remove()
because there is only little that can be done. To simplify the quest to
make this function return void, let struct vio_driver::remove() return
void, too. All users already unconditionally return 0, this commit makes
it obvious that returning an error code is a bad idea.
Note there are two nominally different implementations for a vio bus:
one in arch/sparc/kernel/vio.c and the other in
arch/powerpc/platforms/pseries/vio.c. This patch only adapts the powerpc
one.
Before this patch for a device that was bound to a driver without a
remove callback vio_cmo_bus_remove(viodev) wasn't called. As the device
core still considers the device unbound after vio_bus_remove() returns
calling this unconditionally is the consistent behaviour which is
implemented here.

the operations were unwrapped from tpm_try_get_ops() and tpm_put_ops(),
which are used to take temporarily the ownership of the TPM chip. The
ownership is only taken inside tpm_send(), but this is not sufficient,
as in the key load TPM2_CC_LOAD, TPM2_CC_UNSEAL and TPM2_FLUSH_CONTEXT
need to be done as a one single atom.
Take the TPM chip ownership before sending anything with
tpm_try_get_ops() and tpm_put_ops(), and use tpm_transmit_cmd() to send
TPM commands instead of tpm_send(), reverting back to the old behaviour.

The only usage of ppi_attr_grp is to put its address in an array of
pointers to const struct attribute_group. Make it const to allow the
compiler to put it in read-only memory.

Create sysfs per hash groups with 24 PCR files in them one group,
named pcr-<hash>, for each agile hash of the TPM. The files are
plugged in to a PCR read function which is TPM version agnostic, so
this works also for TPM 1.2 but the hash is only sha1 in that case.
Note: the macros used to create the hashes emit spurious checkpatch
warnings. Do not try to "fix" them as checkpatch recommends, otherwise
they'll break.

Add TPM 2.0 compatible I2C interface for chips with cr50 firmware.
The firmware running on the currently supported H1 MCU requires a
special driver to handle its specific protocol, and this makes it
unsuitable to use tpm_tis_core_* and instead it must implement the
underlying TPM protocol similar to the other I2C TPM drivers.
- All 4 bytes of status register must be read/written at once.
- FIFO and burst count is limited to 63 and must be drained by AP.
- Provides an interrupt to indicate when read response data is ready
and when the TPM is finished processing write data.
This driver is based on the existing infineon I2C TPM driver, which
most closely matches the cr50 i2c protocol behavior.
